"The 390XX-YYDM-A module supplies an RF signal to an acousto-optic Q-Switch, typically in an Nd:YAG laser. The Q-Switch, when excited, exhibits a high loss because it deflects a large portion of the light beam off the optical axis. When the RF is turned off, the Q-Switch becomes transparent and a light pulse is output from the laser. The 390XX-YYDM module is a high power radio frequency generator. The XX in the model number is the operating output frequency, and the YY is the output RF power."
