HighPoint RocketMate 1100

RocketMate 100是鋁製的外接盒，因此能為硬碟提供相當良好的散熱效果。不過你還是要注意硬碟的溫度。溫度越高，硬碟壽命越短。

RocketMate 1100令我們相當驚艷。它所有的連接埠和控制元件都位於後方。HighPoint在盒上標示了數據連線埠，因此你不用擔心錯把USB連接埠當作Firewire連接埠。不過盒上只有一個Firewire連接埠，因此你必須以序列方式連接裝置。關於只設置一個Firewire連接埠的原因目前尚無法得知。

Marvell的88i8030 SATA桥接芯片，这颗芯片是Marvell的高速I/O接口卡家族成员，可以把PATA接口转变成Serial

ATA外置硬盘盒，对于USB，1394硬盘盒我们已经非常熟悉了，但是Serial
ATA硬盘盒还是一个新鲜的事物，它得益于串行传输线的高效率和抗干扰能力，Serial
ATA硬盘线很纤巧，允许较长的传输距离，这也使得把它用于外置硬盘盒成为可能。HighPoint RocketMate
1100硬盘盒采用了铝合金外壳，可以使用3.5英寸的IDE硬盘。硬盘盒上有醒目的Serial
ATA标记，虽然是外置盒，但是它和内置硬盘使用同样的接口，因此数据传输率不会打折扣，这是和USB与IEEE1394外置硬盘盒不一样的地方。

HighPoint RocketMate 1100硬盘盒的背面有12V DC输入端口，Serial ATA电缆的接口，这个并不是我们常见的SATA端口，而是为外置接口盒进行改进的端子，外观有点象IEEE1394接口，它可以更加稳固的连接SATA电缆。

RocketRAID产品的BIOS

开机进入BIOS设置界面，它可以识别出接口上的硬盘设备，所在通道，设备名称，组名以及容量。要注意的是，Serial
ATA只使用每个通道的Master接口，从这也可以看出，这块卡的BIOS是由于来ATA RAID卡修改而来的。

设置菜单中包括了，设置和移去启动标记，所用设备模式和组名
