CSI MBX-3S DGPS

CSI's MBX-3S DGPS Beacon Receiver is used to access free DGPS signals broadcast by the networks of Medium Frequency radiobeacons deployed in many regions throughout the world. The MBX-3S augments a separate GPS receiver with accuracy-improving correction data, resulting in positioning accuracies of one to five meters 95 per cent of the time, depending on the GPS receiver architecture and sophistication.

The MBX-3S is similar to the SBA-1 beacon receiver in that both feature hands-free operation. However, the MBX-3S also features a convenient menu system for advanced receiver configuration and monitoring of operational and performance status. The menu system enables advanced troubleshooting, adjustment of communication parameters, and manual turning of the receiver. The MBX-3S also has a built-in signal splitter designed for use with combination GPS and beacon antennas such as the CDA-3 and the MGL-3. This feature will separate the beacon and GPS signal, enabling a single antenna to be shared by the MBX-3S and an external GPS receiver.

The MBX-3S is a rugged product based upon the CSI Wireless SBX beacon engine that features advanced digital signal processing techniques. This enables the MBX-3S to deliver reliable demodulation of DGPS data from the beacon broadcasts, even in noisy environments. The MBX-3S outputs the resulting data in the industry standard RTCM SC-104 format accepted by differential-ready GPS receivers. To configure and monitor receiver status, the MBX-3S also supports the NMEA 0183 protocol.
